she was drowning, but nobody saw her.

so I saved her.

but it was too late.

then I was gunned down.

and it was too late.

then when I woke up,

I was a completely different person.

but when I looked down at her,

I was in her arms.

she was gripping onto me,

crying,

screaming.

she held a lifeless body.

both of them sitting by the water's side.

blood poured from the lifeless body.

the red color draining from their eyes until they turned grey.

it was me.

I had saved her.

but she hadn't saved me.

she was too late.

her eyes,

they used to shine so bright.

and now I don't think that that gleam will ever return.
