"I'm sorry Mr. Smith. You are not a part of her family, you cannot come in!" The doctor says for the fifth time.

"I AM BASICALLY THE ONLY FAMILY SHE HAS LEFT!" I spat.

"Sir, please, calm down. You are not in her family, so therefore, you cannot enter. We will tell you the news soon." And after that, the doctor leaves me standing there alone in the waiting room.

After that I didn't hesitate. I left right after. I couldn't stand to see her in this much pain in the first place. Last time I checked, her Leukemia was getting worse, also I was told that most people don't survive. Let's just hope that she will be the few that do survive.

I decided that I would walk to the local bar. Get my mind of things. I push through the door slowly, my head hanging down. Heading towards the counter, I hear a loud "HEY" ring through my ears. The bar tender. I know that voice from miles around. I whip my head up, giving him the fakest smile I had ever given.

"Eh," He says in a worried tone, cocking his head to the side, furrowing his eye brows, and places the glass cup he was cleaning and the rag down on the counter, "What's wrong, mate?" My cousin's name is Tod. He is slightly Irish due to his grandparents whom are fully Irish, "Come sit." He pats the counter top in front of an empty stool.

A man in the corner catches my eye as he falls backward, obviously very drunk. Tod stifles a chuckle, and then picks up the glass cup and mug, continuing to clean the cup. I give my younger, much younger, cousin an innocent shrug. He looks up from his cleaning to me, then back down.

"Is it about your girlfriend again?" He asks me, clicking his tongue after he asks me. Force of habit. He always does that. Nobody truly knows why. I give Tod a slight nod.

"Uh, ya. She's getting sicker by the minute, and I can't handle it anymore." Tod nods.

"She will get be'er, trust me," He skips over the t's, due to his slight accent, "Hell, Shay got better. She survived her breast cancer, and I know that Darcy will fight her way through it."

"Tod, that's breast cancer. We are talking about Leukemia. Two different cancers." He nods once more.

"You're right, but still. Ya never know," He pulls at his grey beanie, "So, watcha wanna drink this fine afternoon, cus?" Tod acts kind of like a bad boy, when actually, he is probably the sweetest twenty-two year old you will ever meet.

"Uh, Bloody Mary?" I suggest. The corners of Tod's mouth curl up to form a smirk on his lips.

"Great choice."

"Ya I know. I'm a good decision maker."

"Shu'up, Daniel." He chuckles. I cross my arms as he scans the shelves for a bottle of liquor for my Bloody Mary. I purse my lips then shake my head.

"I don't quite think I can, Toad." Tod hates when I call him Toad. He shakes up my drink then pours it in a glass.

"Don't be so sassy, smart phone." He remarks as he slides my drink to me.

"Don't call me that, Toad." Tod shrugs.

"You're always on that iPhone of yours. It's actually a pretty good nickname for you." I swirl the drink around in the glass for a minute before taking a sip. The toxins run through my veins, I can feel it burning my throat, killing off my pain.

"Whatever."

"So, how have ya been doin' without one leg? Ya alright?" He asks me propping himself with one arm on the marble counter. I shrug, taking another swig.

"Eh. It's fine. I mean, the metal bitch is a bit annoying at times, but other than that I'm fine." Tod picks at his nails nodding.

"That's great, mate. I gotta take care of this next customer. Talk to you in a minute." He walks over to the end of the counter that is closest to the door, asking the girl that walked in what she had wanted. My blue eyes turn wide as they scan the familiar face. She looks over and freezes as she mad eye contact with me.

"D-Daniel?" She gasped. The woman quickly runs over to me and takes me in her arms.

"Hey...J-Jess." I mutter. No. Not her. Too many memories.

"I love you." She whispers and smacks her lips against mine. My eyes bulge out of my head as I push her back.

"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?" I spat. She stares at me horrified, Tod watching confused, "YOU ABOUNDED ME IN A FOREST THREE YEARS AGO AFTER YOU BROKE UP WITH ME AND NOW YOU SEE ME AND SAY YOU LOVE ME? WHAT IS WITH YOU?! I HAVE A GIRLFRIEND THAT I LOVE DEEPLY AND SHE LOVES ME BACK! I HAVE GONE THROUGH HER ALMOST DIEING PLENTY OF TIMES FROM HER CANCER, AND ON TOP OF THAT I LOST A LEG. SO YOU CAN JUST KINDLY FUCK OFF!" I stand up and storm past her. My feet stop and I turn back, "I'll call you later, Tod." And with that, I stormed out, heading back to the hospital.
